Anyone that is interested in competing there is a Summer Showdown competition on the Southside at CrossFit Athletics on August 11th.  You can compete as an individual male or female or there is also a male/female partner division.  If you are interested check out the registration site.

I forgot to give a few shout outs last week and I wanted to take a minute and recognize those achievements.  Johnna got her first pullup, Layne did her first pullup WOD rx’d, BA and Roz killed their pullups, and Jared got a 30# snatch PR with a successful 215# lift

    For anyone that is competing at Team SuperFit at the end of August this will be a good warm up for that and it will also be a good idea of what you can expect from Fall Brawl in October

    Chris I’m not sure how much Jenn checks the comments so I’d def ask her tonight.

    Layne, Super Fit is a partner comp in VA in August, it’s unfortunately sold out (it went on sale in fall/winter 2011 and was sold out within basically a week) so you can’t sign up for that any longer. But the comp is the south side is open, Blake linked it in the text and it should give you all the info you need abt it.

      Also unfortunately, CF Athletics comp is the day after we get back from vacation…. not sure we’re going to be in the best shape… 🙂

        Hahaha that could either be a really kick ass showing with the rest you guys would have gotten or it might be the complete reverse! You could always do some WODs on vaca and just sign up and see I’m sure you guys will do well, I mean you can’t mess your bodies up too much in a week right?

          hahah, I’ll talk to Jared but the answer is yes, I certainly CAN mess up my body that much in one week….
          We did already check it out and I found a box that said we could drop in for a wod or two.. (crossfit virginia beach) so theres a POSSIBILITY we won’t have to crawl back into PA after our week at the beach haha.

    225 c&j. New pr. And 135 for WOD. Should’ve went to 155.

    Blake and I are signed up! Woo hoo, looks like we are going to have another CFIC army heading to dominate a competition! LOVE IT!

    Ohh and since it’s only boy/girl teams Jenn Knight and Annie you two should sign up with Tony or Collin, I think those would be some awesome teams!!

    C&J – focused ALOT on form and really dropping under the bar – stopped at 130#
    WOD done at 105#

    Did a second WOD at 4pm
    For Time:
    Compete a total of 50 Thrusters (95/65)
    On top of every minute do 5 burpees
    *5:52 rx’d

    195 CJ PR (I wrote down wrong on the board) – Power clean 205PR, Failed on my jerk.
    WOD: 145lbs. That was a killer.

    nice job everyone. Lots of ppl in the box tonight. Cool seeing the community grow and grow..

    successful c&j at 215. Struggling with pushing the weight forward whenever I jerk from the front rack. did the wod @ 170# and was able to do it unbroken

    Frank word on the street is that there will be 3 workouts 1 strength, 1CrossFit style MetCon, 1 Strongman type workout. I know a guy that knows a guy that’s all I’m saying.
